The House on the Water
A collaborative installation on uncertainty, home, water, migration and shared domestic imagination.
The House on the Water grows from the NPTProjects concern with home as something both lived and unstable. Water is structure and threat, reflection and distance, surface and border. A house on water is a place of shelter that cannot fully settle.
The project brings together media, textile, installation and immersive elements to think about transnational domestic life: what it means to build a shared home across countries, languages, histories and uncertain futures.
In relation to the broader work, The House on the Water extends the question of mediated reality into the space of domestic imagination. The home is also an interface. It is made of images, rituals, memories, technologies, inherited forms and political constraints.
