The Reality Principle / Zen for Bot / die wunderkammer
Objects and images about belief, verisimilitude, commodity culture and technological miracles.
These works sit at the edge of joke, relic, commodity and proof. The laser-engraved toast pieces, Zen for Bot and related object works ask how an image becomes evidence and how an ordinary object becomes charged with belief once technology touches it.
I have always been interested in verisimilitude: the point where a produced image becomes believable enough to act in the world. These works use ordinary materials and deadpan technological precision to stage little miracles of media credibility.
They also look forward to AI culture. Before synthetic images became part of daily life, these works were already asking how a fabricated image can become a fact, a relic or a social event.
